Any Day Now is the eighth solo studio album by Scott Walker. An album of cover versions, it was Walker’s final studio album with Philips Records.

Its title track, an early composition by Burt Bacharach and the late Bob Hilliard, is followed by a Jimmy Webb composition, All My Love’s Laughter, later recorded by Art Garfunkel. Walker also covers Webb’s If Ships Were Made To Sail, and recent hit singles, including Paul Anka’s Do I Love You?, Bill Withers’ Ain’t No Sunshine, Bread’s If and Barry Mann’s When You Get Right Down To It, a 1970 hit for the R&B group The Delfonics.

Any Day Now also includes interpretations of Caetano Vaeloso’s Maria Bethania, written by the Brazilian composer about his sister while he was in exile in the UK, Randy Newman’s Cowboy from his eponymous 1968 debut album, and The Me I Never Knew, a cover of John Barry and Don Black’s theme for 1972’s Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland, which was the album’s only single, which did not chart.

Orchestral arrangements were directed and conducted by Peter Knight and Robert Cornford, John Franz produced, and Peter Olliff sound engineered. Any Day Now did not chart.
